I'm enjoying your blog - can't wait for the book! Do you happen to know the names of John Morrissey's sisters? I would be very grateful to know,specifically, whether he had a sister named Catherine - and if so, if she was older or younger than John. Thanks so much!

Hi Andrew I've recently been told that John Morrissey is my Great, Great, Great Grandfather. I've just started searching info on him. Do you know if he married and/or had children? and, when did they return back to Ireland.

Hi Joe,
John Morrissey had one boy who died in his 20s and nine daughters. I'm still in the early stages of researching his family. I'm presently focusing on the more public aspects of his life. He never returned to Ireland, but it's possible that one of his daughters who lived past childhood may have. Keep an eye out here for more info as I get it and if you come across anything interesting related to John, pleased let me know.
